PAIGE NICOLE
Meet Paige Nicole, a healthcare manager in Pennsylvania, who recently celebrated 8 years in the field. Beyond her job, she is passionate about criminal justice reform – actively advocating on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook by creating graphics to amplify the message. She is personally connected to the cause, with her husband currently serving a life without parole (LWOP) sentence in California. She has established a Facebook support group to help those with incarcerated loved ones feel less alone.
Today, she discusses what beauty means to her and why she joined the criminal justice reform movement.
DEFINING BEAUTY
“To me, beauty is discovered in the small moments – like the way my husband’s eyes light up when he sees my face on a video call. It’s these little things that provide me with the strength to persevere and contribute to fortifying the bond we share through thick and thin.”
JOINING THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE REFORM MOVEMENT
“ I joined the criminal justice reform movement because I couldn’t stand idly by as my husband faced an unjust system. It’s deeply personal – a journey motivated by love and a profound belief that everyone deserves a chance at redemption. I aim to utilize my voice and do everything possible to raise awareness about the reality behind prison walls. I want people to recognize that these are real individuals who merit a second chance.”
THE “WHY” BEHIND THE WORK
“Having a husband serving life without parole is emotionally challenging. From navigating the complexities of the system to discovering hope in uncertainty, it’s a rollercoaster. However, this journey has also strengthened our connection, compelling me to advocate for change on a broader scale. Together, we can make a difference and bring attention to the need for reform.”
